L.A. All-Sports Film Festival Recap
Moviemakers, bobble head doll trophies and Hank Lucas back in a Dodger Stadium-oh what a weekend it was!
Joe Scherrman and Hank jetted off to LA for the Second-annual, LA All-Sports Film Festival that was held at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. DreamCatcher Productions hired, Dubuque-born/now Hollywood actor, Rob Cunliffe to promote the film by wearing one of the Ghost Player uniforms and passing out a few hundred copies of the lenticular postcard with screening details on the back.
At the festival, Ghost Player took second place in the documentary judging and may end up with a distribution deal.
Being that close to Dodger Stadium, especially as they were holding a Dodgers vs. Cubs game meant that the guys needed to make time for a sweet summer-time treat, baseball, major league-style.
The last morning Hank and Joe went for a walk down Hollywood Blvd. and came across a crew filming a portion of an episode for the TV Series NCIS Los Angles for CBS Television Studios. There were a series of action sequences, dramatic takes, and some scenes including chase sequences and special effects. Productions like these represent a valuable economic benefit to Southern CA and the local communities by providing jobs and revenue.
