This year's WRIFF showcased 35 short, animated, documentary, music and feature films from Iowa, the U.S. and other countries, including Canada, the UK, France, Japan, Germany, China and Mexico. These selected films were juried into the Wild Rose from a pool of over 200 submitted films.

Ghost Player was awarded a "Certificate of Distinctive Achievement" in documentary filmmaking. The film also won the "Best of Iowa" award and was finalist for Best Editing and Best Feature Film.

Films ranged in subject matter from the Midwest's beloved ballplayers to World War II Nazis. Parenting, drug-use, blood and puppies graced the screen at the Iowa State Historical Building.

Future projects for DreamCatcher Productions include wedding and event productions, training/corporate videos and more Iowa-based documentaries. Scheduling of some of their projects pending, based on the future of the Iowa Tax Credit Incentives.

Iowa Governor Chet Culver is lifting the tax incentive suspension on Iowa-related expenditures and is resuming contract talks with projects like "Ghost Player." It means a lot to the project to move forward.

The Ghost Players team started as a lark that soon grew into something amazing that changed the lives of the players and the community they represented forever. They traveled the world and shared the magic of baseball with the Japanese people and US military personal and families in Asia, Europe and North America.

This image-rich coffee table book has a wonderful mixture of moments preserved for readers to enjoy. Roughly 200 pages of 4-color photos. The book holds stories, poems and images of the team told through the voices of players, family and fans. Many of the stories are those of the players but included are stories from fans from as far away as Alaska and Japan. Also included is a piece from Rob Edelman, author of Great Baseball Films and Baseball on the Web. Other members of the Society of American Baseball Researcher Association (SABR) are participating as well.
